    Dr. Ayuha Shinji
    Research Director,
    Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc.

     

    Dr. Shinji Ayuha has been working on international finance for more than 20 years. He is currently Research Director, Climate Change Solution Group, Sustainability Division of Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc., and provides solutions relating to sustainable finance to both public and private sector partners.
    Before his current position, Dr. Shinji Ayuha was the Financial Sector Specialist of the World Bank (2018-2020) in Washington DC, providing advisory service on climate-related risk measurement to emerging market countries. He also served as Deputy Director of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) (2007-2017) in Tokyo and was in charge of credit analysis on many kinds of finances to Africa, the Middle East, South America, and Asia, having visited over 60 countries. He was also Research Fellow (2017 - 2020) of the International University of Japan and conducted research on sustainable finance, and lectured international businesses to undergraduates.
    He graduated from the Department of International Studies, Graduate School of Frontier Science, the University of Tokyo (2019), and earned a Ph.D. in International Studies with a dissertation on empirical study on sustainable banking system. He also earned an MBA from Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2006).

    Mr. Gursimran Rooprai
    Inventor of CAFI®,
    Financial Institutions Group and (current) member of IFC Treasury team,
    International Finance Corporation (IFC)

     

    Mr. Gursimran Rooprai has been with the International Finance Corporation since 2011. As part of the Financial Institutions Group, he has processed new investment and advisory climate-finance projects, leveraging IFC’s ESG standards, and focusing on climate finance and sustainable bonds. He is currently a member of the IFC's Treasury team where he supports the development of IFC's sustainable bond programs.
    Previously, Gursimran was part of IFC’s investment team on the groundbreaking Amundi Planet EGO Fund (the largest emerging market green-bond fund). He also collaborated on similar investment initiatives to produce high development impact and sustainable growth. He is also the inventor of first-of-a-kind impact measurement tools for IFC staff and financial institution clients, namely, ABACUS and CAFI, respectively. He has produced research and reports on greening banks, capital markets, green bonds and pricing, and developing a sustainable finance system.
    Before coming to IFC, he worked with leading private sector companies on infrastructure-development projects and financial advisory services, based in India. He also served the small islands/developing states for the United Nations Division of Sustainable Development in New York. He is an avid practitioner of Iyengar yoga.     Mr. Anouj Mehta
    Unit Head, Green and Innovative Finance and the ACGF, Southeast Asia Department,

    Asian Development Bank (ADB)

     

    Mr. Anouj focuses on Innovative and Green Finance across Southeast Asia. Through SERD innovative finance hub, he manages the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance facility as well as a number of initiatives and partnerships to develop leveraged finance approaches both as conceptual instruments and in projects. He has been focusing on green finance since 2015 with the development of the Catalyzing Green Finance publication and related ADB projects in People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Southeast Asia. He recently led the development of a "Green Recovery Strategies" knowledge product and a green recovery fund in advanced formulation. Previously Anouj led a pioneering PPP and sub-sovereign initiative in India from both the ADB and the World Bank. Anouj was an investment banker at JP Morgan Chase prior to joining ADB and has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, project and corporate finance, capital markets, sovereign and non-sovereign infrastructure financing.

     

    Mr. Rodrigo Martinez
    Project Origination Expert (Consultant), Southeast Asia Department (SERD),
    Asian Development Bank (ADB)

     

    Mr. Rodrigo is a consultant working with the Asian Development Bank (SERD) under the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF). He has over ten years of experience in originating, structuring, and implementing infrastructure projects. Prior to joining ADB, he was a Southeast Asia Business Development Manager at CENTUNION S.A., a Spanish General Contractor specialized in industrial and transport projects, and worked also as Trade and Investment Advisor in the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Manila. He holds an MBA and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

     

    Ms. Ma. Nanette A. Biason
    Head - Finance and Investment Center,
    Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific

     

    Ms. Ma. Nanette Biason heads the ADFIAP Finance and Investment Center (AFIC) which undertakes deal flows and business cooperation through the resources of ADFIAP members and networks. She has more than 30 years of professional experience in banking, program lending and relationship management. She worked with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) as Vice President and Team Head of Corporate Banking Division handling large corporates and middle market segment of Northern Metro Manila. Prior to Corporate Banking, she was head of the Specialized Lending Team which implemented blended finance facilities for key industries in energy, environment, manufacturing, agriculture and water. She also led the Sustainable Energy Finance (SEF) Program of BPI where she developed business models for financing energy efficiency, renewable energy and other climate resilient and clean energy projects.

     

    Ms. Sushara Vidyasagara
    Chief Manager -Investment Banking,
    Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC

     

    Ms. Sushara Vidyasagara is the Chief Manager - Investment Banking of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. She has over 25 years’ experience in management consultancy, corporate banking and investment banking. She has been associated with Commercial Bank’s Investment Banking Division since its inception. She has over 20 years’ experience in financing the renewable energy sector and has been instrumental in implementing multiple Green Financing strategies for Commercial Bank.
    She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a Masters in Financial Economics.
