The Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2022

ACEF 2022 will be held virtually during 14-17 June 2022. ACEF is an annual flagship event organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This year's theme is Innovative and Integrated Solutions for a Low-Carbon and Resilient Future.

This year's forum will be organized with the four Thematic Tracks as follows: Thematic Track 1. Policy Reforms for the Energy Transition, Thematic Track 2. Innovative Low-Carbon Technologies, Thematic Track 3. Cross-Sectoral Applications for an Inclusive Energy Transition, Thematic Track 4. Financing NDC Action.

In Session 2.1 of Thematic Track 2, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan will present the concept of CEFIA and its main activity including decarbonization projects implemented under CEFIA followed by panel discussion: The presentation is titled: “Japan's contribution to accelerating the deployment of cleaner energy and low carbon technology in the ASEAN region through Cleaner Energy Future Initiative of ASEAN (CEFIA).”

Presentation description: Cleaner Energy Future Initiative for ASEAN (CEFIA) initiated by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan, in 2019 has supported accelerating the deployment of cleaner energy and low carbon technology in the ASEAN region. CEFIA has 3 key components for its activity: low carbon technology, regulatory framework, and finance, and involves both the public and private sector. At this event, METI will present the concept of CEFIA and its main activity, especially focusing on “Flagship projects” implemented by Japanese companies as a showcase of good practice of cooperation between Japan and ASEAN member states.
