The 4th CEFIA Forum was held physically in Cebu, Philippines on 16 February 2023. The Forum was hosted by the Department of Energy, Government of the Philippines, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of the Government of Japan, with the support from the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). The CEFIA Forum took place back-to-back with the 17th ASEAN+3 NRE and EE&C Forum.

Attended by 76 on-site participants from ASEAN+3 government officials, international organisations, universities, and private companies and 1,810 stream views through DOE Facebook Platform, the stakeholders gathered on site or online to share progress on activities and discuss future activities aimed at energy transition towards a decarbonised energy system in the ASEAN region.

In doing so, an array of session topics were discussed, including: (i) progress of flagship projects and new flagship project candidate (Healthy and Energy Efficient AC system for ASEAN market) and ideas of new flagship projects (biomass, clean ammonia value chain, and lean and clean factory); (ii) perspective and expectation of CEFIA from government and private sector; (iii) cross-cutting fields of CEFIA; and (iv) panel discussion on the future of CEFIA.

The Forum also formally launched the CEFIA Collaboration Roadmap(s) ((CEFIA Flagship Projects (FPs), CEFIA Visualisation and CEFIA Finance) which will serve as a platform to facilitate three collaborations, i.e. collaborations between the private and public sectors, between CEFIA and APAEC II, and between finance, policy frameworks, and decarbonising solutions.
